  1. The most common causes of spinal and spinal cord injuries are traumas

    In the setting of osteoporosis, fractures can occur without any history of trauma. Tumors and metastasis can also weaken the bone to cause non-traumatic fractures that are known as pathologic fractures. 

    Repeated microtrauma can cause stress fractures.
